About Me

I seem to have a penant for moving to a differenty state every 5 years. I'm the mother of two (giggle giggle...I still haven't gotten use to thinking of myself as such) fabulous little girls. I once lived for shoe shopping and must now be content to look at the shoes that I would love to buy, but now take a back seat to purchasing something for my girls. I love to read, cook, decorate and redecorate, SHOP (I think thats why I have two girls), long dinners with great conversation, and your random scrabble games with free flowing wine. Anything else you need to know is trivial, but feel free to ask.

Love not Fear

An old aquaintance of mine recently had her first child and was describing this constant fear that she has of doing something wrong or hurting the baby, which is typical for all FTM's (please refer to Michi's Mind for explanation of FTM)

I too remember those first few weeks questioning every little thing I did for my baby, was this right, what am I doing wrong, what can I do better? And then it dawned on me this overwhelming fear was not fear at all! Its love, pure and simple. No games or subterfuge, the instant this baby comes into your life you want whats best for them. You want to make sure you have provided them with the right amount of quality time, nutrition, education, LOVE!

So fear not FTM's out there, while the "fear" will never go ahead, this is a piece of your heart walking around out there after all; You are doing the best you can for your baby each and everyday! and they know it!

The Party Continues...

So baby J and I were doing our thing (looking at shoes) when Baby A in a rare fit (this child is uber melo) just starts screaming her head off, she is inconsolable.

When all of a sudden this comes on:

Baby J begins to dance around and clap and Baby A instantly melos out again!

These are my girls alright, good beats soothes their soul!

Gymnorexia

Hi my name is Rosie and I'm a GYMNOREXIC (in my defense its only a mild version)

No I did not just make up a word, I've only just discovered the word for my recent ailment.

Gymnorexia: is a term used to describe anyone with a workout obssession. The feeling of emptiness if one does not workout on any given day.

I didn't know this exsisted until the other day when I saw a news report on it "the newest craze" if you must. Now I wouldn't exactly say I feel an emptiness when I don't workout but I definitely feel like something isn't right with my day...ok ok I feel guilty when I don't (maybe its not so mild) So as my pregnancy progress I wasn't able to workout the way I was used to, sure I did the walking and stretching, but where was the "good sweat" the racing heart the rush after a good workout?!?!?!?!

Needless to say other than belly diving into bed (check) I have been looking forward to my 6week Dr. appointment to get the o.k. for my good workout to resume **stay tuned for the OMG my body hurts all over post! followed by the I heart Gilad post**

P.S. If you know who Gilad is then you too have a mild version of Gymnorexia

Mean kids

I should preface this post by saying that my eldest daughter is home all day with me so anytime she sees other little kids I've officially made her day!

So yesterday I decided was as good a day as any to take my daughter winter coat shopping.

**side note: Anyone who pays full price for a winter coat for a 19 month old is caaaarrrraaaazzzzyyyy! Thank you Old Navy for the 50% off outerwear.

It came as no surprise to me when baby J got all excited as soon as we walked into the store and headed towards the "kids" section of the store. Baby J proceeded to hug all the toddler sized mannequins (I know its sad, but in the cutest possible way) which the sales girl standing nearby and myself thought was absolutely adorable, this is after all why I love her sooo much!

We continue about our business shopping for a winter coat and other wants I mean necessities (theres no real difference in my mind) and child #1 walks by Baby practically trips over herself runs (imagine toddler run) to the child stops in front of them smile and waves and says "HI!" child #1 blank stare turns and walks away o.k. no biggie, walk it off Baby J. Child #2 was near the shoes (Baby J loves shoes!!) again Baby J runs a little faster this time, there are shoes involved after all, same greeting same reaction from child #2 WTH!!! SO I decide its time to check out and take Baby J to the mechanical toy which she is obsessed with these days, at the check out child #3, she seems like a bubbly little girl until Baby J walks up greets her and again crickets!!!

At this point I'm starting to feel bad for my little girl because she really is extremely friendly with other kids (Adults not sooo much, but thats a good thing right!) So we walk out of the store and head straight for the Bob the builder mechanical toy its the first one Baby J can see as we exit the store. It just so happens child #4 was in the digger (o.k. great another child playing, looks promising for baby J) smile, wave, "HI!" yeah o.k. this kid could not wait to get out of the digger and away from Baby J while looking at her like she had 20 heads!!!
Thank goodness my child is resilient she is not phased by this at all so we continue to play a while longer.

BUT seriously parents can we teach our kids to be polite to each other!!! its never to early to start! I understand caution around strangers, but COME ON shes 19 months old!!!!

Don't worry Baby J, Baby A will soon be old enough to partake in fun activities with you. and she will always smile, wave and say "HI!" with the same enthusiasm, heck there may even be a hug involved!

She's Playing in your closet...

This is what my husband says to me as he walks into the kitchen, while I am trying to get started for my day (sipping on my second cup of coffee)

I know exactly what to expect:

1) My eldest will at some point trot out to the kitchen in my fav pair of brown 4 1/2" heels (shes very good at this)
2) All of my high heel shoes will be scattered about my closet, bedroom, and quite possible bathroom.
3) My fuzzy slippers will be in the bassinet with my littlest charmer, she has already learned the art of sharing the fun with her sister
4) She has recently discovered my makeup stash so that too will join the shoes on the floor

And lastly...

All of my long dresses that are soft to the touch will form a trail to the living room and end on her favorite green club chair.

Should I stop this?!?!?!?!

What and let my coffee get cold...NEVER!!! I'll deal with the mess later
